Sustainability Meets Style: Haderlump's "Circularis" Collection Makes Waves at Berlin Fashion Week

Berlin Fashion Week: Haderlump’s Sustainable “Circularis” Shines

Berlin Fashion Week witnessed a unique showcase of sustainable fashion as Haderlump unveiled its latest collection, “Circularis.” This collection, created in collaboration with DHL, embodies the principles of circular fashion by repurposing deadstock materials and discarded workwear from the logistics giant.

A Show Steeped in Symbolism:

The venue, an old shopping center transformed into a darkened room with shimmering silver foil, served as a powerful symbol. The foil’s reflections mirrored the collection’s theme of circularity, while the repurposed location subtly critiqued fast fashion’s environmental impact. As models walked the catwalk, water cascaded along the foil’s edge, adding a dynamic touch that mirrored the collection’s flow and transformation.

Black Magic with Unexpected Twists:

“Circularis” initially captivated with its monochromatic palette, where unconventional materials like fur and pops of color brought garments to life. Clean cuts and meticulous craftsmanship defined the collection, transitioning from deconstructed knits to white knits with grunge influences. A standout piece was a deconstructed leather dress layered over white knit, reminiscent of Audrey Hepburn’s timeless style. The collection also featured statement silhouettes with broad shoulders and platform shoes, emphasizing power and individuality.

Innovation in Every Stitch:

Haderlump’s commitment to innovation shone through in creative details like unique fastening techniques and corset-like elements that resembled deconstructed skirts. The collection culminated in two long coats adorned with captivating prints, solidifying its versatility and sophistication.

Beyond the Runway: A Philosophy of Repurposing:

The Haderlump brand, named after a derogatory term for ragpickers, proudly embraces its core philosophy of sustainability and material reuse. Designer Michael Ehrhardt’s passion lies in blending classic elegance with modern elements, drawing inspiration directly from the fabrics themselves. This hands-on approach allows him to experiment with shapes and cuts, transforming discards into pieces of art.

Berlin Fashion Week served as a fitting platform for Haderlump to showcase its vision, proving that sustainability and high fashion can go hand in hand. The “Circularis” collection is a testament to Ehrhardt’s creativity and a beacon of hope for a more responsible future in the fashion industry.
